Financial wellbeing

In this section, will we explain how unpaid carers can access financial support through benefits, grants, and discounts.

Caring can have a significant impact on your finances, through a reduction in working hours or earnings, loss of income if the person you care for can no longer work, or the additional costs of specialist equipment and treatment.

Over two thirds of carers disagreed with the statement “being a carer has improved my finances”.
Only one third know what financial support they could access.
