Not all businesses advertise these discounts. It’s a good idea to ask when you are buying tickets for something as there might be a discount available for carers. Here we have listed some local and national companies offering discounts to carers.


Cinema Exhibitors’ Association (CEA) card

A disabled cinema guest can receive a free ticket for someone to go with them when they visit a participating cinema. 


Disabled person’s railcard

Pay £20 for a third off rail travel for 1 year, or £54 for 3 years. 


Edinburgh Castle

Carers of visitors with disabilities receive free entry.


Edinburgh Leisure

VOCAL can support carers to apply for a Community Access Programme card, if you meet the criteria. Please contact us to ask.


Edinburgh Zoo

Free admission for carers when they accompany the person they care for, who pays full price.


National Express disabled coachcard

For anyone with a disability. Pay £15 for a third off bus travel for 1 year. 


National Express senior coachcard

For people age 60 or over. Pay £15 for a third off bus travel for 1 year.


National Trust

Members can bring one or two carers with them for free, using an Essential Companion card. 


Senior railcard

Pay £30 for a third off rail travel for 1 year, or £70 for 3 years. 


Two together railcard

Pay £30 for a third off rail travel for 1 year, for you and the person you travel with most (partner, friend or family member).
