Attendance Allowance

For the full details on Attendance Allowance and how to apply, please visit the UK government website.

For more information on the transfer from AA to PADP in Scotland, visit the Scottish government website.

Attendance Allowance (AA) is a non-means-tested benefit for people over State Pension age with a physical or mental disability. It should go towards supervision or help with personal care to keep you safe.

In Scotland, Attendance Allowance will be replaced by Pension Age Disability Payment (PADP). This process is happening in stages – applications for Scotland will be open from April 2025.

If you already receive AA and you live in Scotland, your benefit will be automatically transferred to PADP. You do not need to re-apply.
