Benefits and entitlements

Carers Allowance (CA) is a benefit paid to carers by the Department of Work and Pensions. It is being replaced by a new benefit called Carer Support Payment (CSP).

Universal Credit (UC) is a means-tested benefit for people who are on low incomes or out of work, paid by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP).

Including Adult Disability Payment (ADP), Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Disability Living Allowance (DLA)

Attendance Allowance is a non-means-tested benefit for people over State Pension age with a physical or mental disability. It will be replaced will be replaced by Pension Age Disability Payment (PADP).

Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) is a benefit to support you if your ability to work is affected by a disability or health condition. 

Job Seeker’s Allowance (JSA) is a benefit for people looking for work. You can receive it for up to 6 months. 

Pension Credit (PC) is for people who are over State Pension age and on a low income.

Housing Benefit (HB) is to help you pay some or all of your rent.

There are discounts available for Council Tax, which you can apply for through your local council.
