Your State Pension age depends on your sex and date of birth – you can find it out on the UK government website.
PC is separate to your State Pension. Your claim for PC will also not be affected by other income or savings you have, or property you own.
Eligibility
- You live in Scotland
- You have reached State Pension age
- If you have a partner, you must include them in your application. You are eligible for a joint application if either: both of you have reached State Pension age; or one of you receives Housing Benefit for people over State Pension age
Weekly amounts
If you receive PC, your weekly income will be topped up as follows:

In a partnership | £332.95 together |
As a carer, you can get an extra £46.50 per week of PC if you also receive Carer’s Allowance or Carer Support Payment.
As a disabled person, you can get an extra £81.50 per week of PC if you also receive Attendance Allowance, Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payment, Adult Disability Payment, or the Armed Forces Independent Payment.
