Lindsay was her mother’s live-in carer for around six months and supported her with housekeeping, personal care and practical support during that time. Lindsay’s caring role became too much for her, especially since she was also dealing with her own health issues. Lindsay was referred to VOCAL through her GP.
During Lindsay’s initial contact with us she expressed her love for the theatre. We suggested she could apply for a grant from our Wee Breaks service to fund a season ticket for the theatre. She said:
“I was successful in my application and am enjoying regular evenings at various theatres. Performances I have attended so far include some pantomimes, Jekyll and Hyde, and Dundee Rep. Tonight I shall be watching Two Sisters at the Lyceum.
The Wee Breaks service is continuing to provide me with respite and pleasure at a stressful time.”
