Ken recently contacted us to share ‘Remembering Mary’, a series of reflections of his life with his late wife. Ken sadly lost Mary in 2013 to cancer and vascular dementia. We met with Ken and Mary around 10 years ago, and provided 1-2-1 and group support. Ken kindly donated to VOCAL, describing the organisation as: “My memories are of a warm light in what felt like a dark night”.
With Ken’s permission, we have shared their story. Ken hopes that this will help others living with dementia and those who care for them. He provides advice and guidance and although each person’s experience is unique, we feel his reflections will resonate with many families.
